The Olympic Park, along the Danube (5th District).

Shoes along the banks of the Danube. A simple, yet powerful Holocaust monument in memory of the thousands of Jews who were tied up and shot into the Danube in 1944-1945.

A new 1956 monument, erected in 2006, on the 50th anniversary of the 1956 Revolution. Interestingly, the English language information on the plaque next to the monument speaks of the 1956 "War of Independence." (14th District).

Another 1956 Monument, in memory of revolutionaries in Budapest's 2nd District. (Széna Tér.)
